I grow herbs every summer and right now I am overrun with rosemary, oregano, thyme and basil. I saw this awesome idea on Pinterest about freezing the herbs in olive oil and using it throughout the year. Love the idea. Has anyone tried this? Can you really freeze olive oil like that?

i have heard of freezing herbs, but not in olive oil. i think it was in water... i have never tried it though and think it would be a great idea! for some reason, i hate shelling out money for fresh herbs and settle for the dried kind... let me know how freezing them in olive oil goes if you try it!
ReplyDeleteWe puree basil with olive oil and freeze it in ice cube trays. Once frozen toss it in a freezer bag and you have delicious basil all year. I'm sure other herbs would work as well. It's worth the little bit of time it takes.
